Modern dispensing machines developed for enterprises, such as manufacturing plants and logistics companies, automate warehouse management - streamlining work, eliminating human error and generating savings. And at ASD Systems we tailor their functionality to the specifics of the work - that's how the General Device System was created. How does it work?

What are the key functionalities of vending machines for enterprises?

The traditional organization of a company's warehouse, which relies primarily on human labor - taking orders, distribution and recording of products by supply staff - has quite a few weaknesses. It requires warehousemen to be available 24 hours a day, and even the most conscientious worker happens to make a mistake. The consequence of such a mistake is not infrequently even a plant shutdown.

To be able to avoid such risks, and at the same time to improve the work of the warehouse, to make it faster, easier and more efficient, in ASD Systems we have developed specialized vending machines that take over the function of the warehouse and optimize warehouse management.

How does it work? In the vending machines we place products needed by the company's employees - for example, health and safety items, tools, supplies and consumables. We provide employees with, for example, employee cards, and on their basis the machines issue products - distribution becomes self-service, and recording becomes automatic. The person managing the system uses a special IDS application, where he has a full view of inventory and the most important distribution data, and can assign products to employees and impose limits on their downloads.

The functionality of vending machines depends on the model and version of the software - and one of our latest implementations is the General Device System.

What is the General Device System (GSD) and how does it work?

General Device System is a system developed by employees of our company ASD Systems for one of our Partners. The GSD allows the employees of a given company to place orders for the products they need from the automation level.

At the moment, this functionality is available in two models of the device, namely the L40 PRO vending machine (a multifunctional machine for issuing bulky products, including health and safety items and MRO) and the T10 warehouse terminal (a machine used to automate issuance by a warehouse worker).

General Device System allows ordering internally - an employee orders products or components in the machine, and the order appears in the IDS application (we implement all these materials, parameters and settings in the system beforehand). Further, the warehouse staff completes the order and delivers it to the vending machine, so that the employee can pick it up at a convenient time, or already directly into the hands of the ordering party.

Who are the General Device System vending machines designed for?

The General Device System functionality was developed primarily for large manufacturing companies whose production subsidiaries and warehouses are far from each other or are located in a different place than the company's headquarters, where the supply chain of products and materials for production is organized. The solution can, of course, be used by all companies and plants where there is a need to order items needed for certain processes and tasks, and the current system is not working.

Our customers, who already use the L40 PRO automatic machine and (or) T10 warehouse terminal in their enterprise, do not need to replace the equipment - we will implement the GDS system to the already working machines.

You can also order devices equipped with GSD directly from our company - we will create them with all the necessary functions, and then install them in the plant, connect, configure and prepare them for operation. Feel free to contact our specialists!

What are the benefits of the GSD function in dispensing machines?

By using the General Device System functionality, we automate the ordering process between the company' s subsidiaries . For the company, this brings at least three huge benefits.

  1. Elimination of the risk of human error. Communication between the employee and the warehouseman through the dispensing machine or terminal has no right to fail - the responsible for procurement picks the products not only physically, but also in the IDS application. The system watches over the correctness of the task.
  2. Faster ordering process. From the logistics chain of the process - compared to the traditional form of order processing - we remove the person who collects orders and places them in the warehouse. From the vending machine and terminal, we transfer the task in a few seconds and directly to the warehouse workers.
  3. Convenience and saving the employee's time. An employee who needs specific products can order them at any time he happens to have time to do so. He is no longer dependent on the warehouse's working hours or a deadline set specifically for placing orders.

What does automating the warehouse with dispensing machines give you?

  • Warehouseunder control. With the IDS application, the person who manages the product distribution process has a real-time view of inventory and tracks the flow of products between the warehouse and employees.
  • Reduced product consumption. We assign products to employees - and set a limit on their retrieval. This ensures that articles and materials are only used for their intended purpose and for a sufficiently long time.
  • Facilitated billing. The downloading employee also indicates where the cost occurred, and in the application we can automatically generate billing and reports and send them to specific departments (e.g., controlling, accounting).
  • Procurement simplification. Automated machines are available 24/7. They are also easy to replenish, thanks to the scanning system, and they record distribution "by themselves" - automatically. There is no need for frequent inventory taking.

All this translates into saving time, of course, but also money - by reducing the consumption of products and cutting down on the work of supply clerks. The investment pays for itself very quickly!

FAQ:

What is the General Device System?

The General Device System is a system developed by ASD Systems as a feature of vending machines designed for manufacturing companies, which allows product orders to be placed directly into the warehouse, from the machine itself.

How does the General Device System (GSD) work in vending machines?

An employee places an order for needed products and materials in the panel of the dispensing machine. The order goes to the IDS application for distribution management. The warehouse completes the order and places it in the vending machine or sends it to the employee.

When will a GDS in dispensing machines work?

General Device System, the functionality of the dispensing machines, will work especially well in large manufacturing plants where the various sectors and branches are far from each other.
