Innovation Vouchers for SMEs: Stage 1 – Service

ASD SYSTEMS Sp. z o.o. is implementing the project titled “Development of a wireless electronic lock compatible with an intelligent access control system in warehouse systems.”
The project is co-financed under the Operational Programme Intelligent Development 2014-2020, funded by the European Regional Development Fund, Sub-measure 2.3.2 Innovation Vouchers for SMEs.

Brief Project Description:

The scope of the project involves purchasing an R&D service to develop a wireless electronic lock compatible with an intelligent access control system for warehouse systems. The project focuses on creating a lock for managing storage spaces, which will work seamlessly with ASD SYSTEMS’ existing IDS (Warehouse Management System) application. Additionally, the lock developed as part of the project will feature:

  • Remote control: Wireless operation within a 20-meter range, eliminating the need for electrical wiring between the controlling device and the lock.
  • Extended battery life: A minimum of two years of continuous operation on a single set of batteries (assuming one use per day).
  • Easy installation: A design that enables users to easily install, replace, or dismantle the lock.
  • Wide applicability: A casing suitable for mounting in standard metal furniture and chipboard furniture.
  • Compact design: External dimensions no greater than 200 mm (width), 200 mm (height), and 100 mm (depth). The total weight of the case and locking mechanism will not exceed 2,000 grams.

The project will result in a report containing research outcomes, including technical, manufacturing, and production documentation for the new lock, supported by tabular and graphical representations of the tested prototype. Deliverables will include a finalized 3D model, detailed engineering drawings (assembly and component designs), and a fully assembled prototype of the lock. The lock will be an innovative product both for the Applicant and the market.

The implementation of the project will introduce product innovation on a national scale. The R&D activities leading to the aforementioned outcomes will be conducted by a research institution selected through a procurement process, specifically the University of Technology and Humanities in Bielsko-Biała (hereinafter: ATH).

Project Timeline: January 1, 2020 – June 30, 2021

Project Objectives:
